Vietnam Memorial

Monday is Memorial Day, and because many people consider it to be the unofficial start of summer (the official start is, of course, not until June 20th but I know you already knew that), it’s often forgotten that the day is there for another reason.  Memorial Day is for memories – for many, it signifies those that have fought for our country.  For others, it is a day to remember those that have made a difference in our lives for one reason or another and who can’t be with us on the day.  And for others, it’s a day to remember memories of good times past.

However you celebrate the day, the key word is “celebrate.”  And you know we looovvve to celebrate.  Barbeques will abound, I’m sure, as long as the weather is good. Heck, even if the weather isn’t good, why should that stop us?  I’m thinking mud slip and slides….. but I digress.

Barbeques, brunches, picnics in the park – however you choose to celebrate, isn’t it a good time to break out those plastic wine glasses you’ve kept hidden away and fill them to the brim?  Use it as a chance to give a toast to someone you care about or a memory you share with that special someone.  Maybe use it as a time to buy that first bottle of white wine since you’ve been drinking red all winter.  Whatever your pleasure, we toast you on this day of memories.
