How I celebrate Valentine’s Day

Valentine’s Day – it’s just 4 days away.  Do you have a plan on what you’re going to do to celebrate it?  There seem to be two camps about Valentine’s Day from what I’ve seen:  the “ooh I’m in love and I just have to shower my honey with….something” and the “Bah – everyone needs to put away those PDA moments and Hallmark needs to stop creating ways to spend money.”  I’ve been a part of both Valentine’s Days.

hot and spicy hearts

I often celebrate Valentine’s Day as the warm up act – I end up on a table with some cheese and crackers and watch as one side of the couple (I’m not saying which side, but I bet you can guess) tries to make up for many months of non-romantic gestures in one night.  I’ve also been carried into the second act of dinner, which honestly, can be quite entertaining when the non-cook attempts to make that “special” meal.

But I’ve also enjoyed a quiet night on Valentine’s Day, just hanging as the everyday, after-work drink of choice as the one who has chosen me putters around the house.  I might accompany a lovely dinner in that case, or I might be accompanying Raman noodles.  Either way, I make a great companion!

And, since I do like a bit of naughtiness any day of the year, I like to think that my participation in the day might add some spice to whomever adds me to their table on February 14th…

What was your best or worst Valentine’s Day ever?
